To find what your local (LAN) IP address is on Windows, do the following:

1. Go to Start and click on Run

2. Type "command" into the box and hit OK

3. Type "ipconfig" into the window and hit Enter on the keyboard

4. Your IP address will be displayed

5. To close the window type "exit" and hit enter

Note: If your computer is hooked up to a router, this will be the IP address that the router assinged your computer, not the global IP (WAN) address that your ISP (Internet Service Provider) provides you with and that other people on the internet can see. If you do have a router and want to know what global IP address your ISP is providing you with, either check your routers configuration by consulting your router manual, contact your ISP and they can tell you your IP address, or simply visit http://checkip.dyndns.org
